Description

The Hundred Days campaign was a series of battles fought by Allied forces to defeat the German armies at the end of the First World War. The Canadian Corps, 100,000-strong and commanded by Lieutenant-General Sir Arthur Currie, played a key role in spearheading many of the battles at Amiens, Arras, Cambrai and Mons.

Drawing upon the Canadian War Museum's collection of unique artifacts, images, works of art and stories of Canadians in times of war, this souvenir catalogue explores and illuminates these crucial battles that are among the most important in all of Canadian military history.

Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the end of the war, the exhibition explores the changing nature of fighting on the battlefield. Infantry, tanks, artillery, engineers and airplanes worked together in a tactical innovation to more effectively drive through the German defences and hasten an end to the war.
